The palette leans deep — maroons, indigos, bottle greens — with borders that frame without overpowering. Inspired by timeless stories and literary heroines, Malvika is for evenings that call for poise. It’s for the woman who doesn’t need sparkle to stand out — just silken sarees that know how to flow.

Roopmati Collection

Frequently Asked Questions

1
How can I tell if a Maheshwari Silk Saree is genuine?
At Vastrtatva, authenticity is everything — and a true Maheshwari Silk Saree always tells its own story. The easiest way to spot the real thing? Look for the reversible border — a rare hallmark of Maheshwari craft — along with a soft sheen and feather-light drape that synthetic or mass-made fabrics simply can’t imitate

Originals often come with a GI tag or certification mark, but your senses are your best guide: the texture should feel rich yet airy. If you’re unsure, try the burn test — a thread from pure silk will turn to ash, while synthetics will melt. Also watch out for printed motifs or stiff, one-sided borders — clear signs that it’s not the real deal.
2
How do I know if a saree is truly handloom and not power loom?
A genuine handloom saree carries the touch of the weaver — you’ll see small irregularities, extra threads, or slight shifts in the weave. These aren’t flaws; they’re fingerprints of a craft that’s made slowly, patiently, and by hand.

At Vastrtatva, every handloom saree is made over days, not minutes. Power loom sarees, in contrast, are machine-perfect: too uniform, slightly stiff, and made in bulk. If you hold the fabric up to light or run your fingers along the borders, you’ll feel the difference.
3
Can I request fall and picot finishing with my order?
Not just yet — but we’re working on it! While Vastrtatva currently ships unstitched sarees to keep them versatile, we know how helpful finishing can be. Fall and picot stitching services are part of our upcoming enhancements, and we’ll keep you posted as soon as they’re available.
4
What’s your return or exchange policy?
We want you to feel confident about what you choose. If for any reason something doesn’t feel right, just head to our Returns and Exchange Policy for all the details. Our team is here to help make things right.
5
What’s the difference between Block Print and Bagh Print?
Both are rooted in tradition, but there’s a big difference. Block print is a technique used across India — where artisans stamp fabric with carved wooden blocks. It’s beautiful and widely practiced, but Bagh Print is something else altogether.

Bagh comes from a small village in Madhya Pradesh and uses only natural vegetable dyes, mostly deep red and black. The fabric is washed multiple times in the Bagh River, which deepens the colours and gives the fabric its distinctive character. You’ll notice bold floral or geometric patterns, and a matte richness that’s hard to replicate. At Vastrtatva, only pieces made using these traditional methods in Bagh are labelled as true Bagh Print — and we honour that legacy with care.
